We've teamed up with wonderful Gabriella Pisani from By Gabriella to tell you about ways to strengthen sensitive skin. Gabriella has sensitive skin herself, so she shares her tips and tricks on how she cares for her skin. Watch the video below or read our article!
1. Address your skincare regime
Go over your skincare routine, and take out any harsh products that might be irritating your skin. Try to use concern-specific products too. If you have acne use anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial products, and the best products for rosacea are rosacea-specific products and etc.
Although it is expensive, it is worth investing in seeing a dermatologist. They can give you tailored advice on which products for you to use to keep your flare-ups at bay and get your skin glowing.
2. Always remove your makeup
This applies to everyone with any skin type. Makeup left on the skin overnight will result in clogged pores and eventually breakouts, as your skin needs time to breathe and recover.
Make sure you get a good cleanser to incorporate in your daily skincare routine. Our Sönd Gentle Daily Cleanser is designed specifically for sensitive skin. Gabriella gently massages it on the face, and leaves it on for a couple of minutes to soak up makeup, then she wipes it away with cotton pads:
"This works much better on my skin than a harsh foaming cleanser that i need to splash a lot of water on to get off as it just dehydrates my skin. Rosacea, acne, dehydration, inflammation - all of that I have, and this works really really well for my skin."
3. Use the right exfoliator
If you have sensitive skin it is best to avoid gritty scrubs completely. It is still important to get rid of dead skin cells, but it's worth looking into more gentle methods, such as exfoliating wipes.
4. Use serums
Serums are more targeted and have a much higher concentration of ingredients than your usual moisturiser. You can find a serum that will address almost any, if not all, skin concerns, and it is worth looking for and investing into the right one.
Our Strength Training Serum contains Sodium Hyaluronate and Silica to help you deeply hydrate your skin and even out fine lines and wrinkles.
5. Use SPF
Dermatologists recommend using at least SPF30 on the daily basis. Yes, even if you live in the UK, and yes, even if it's not sunny outside. This is especially important for people with sensitive skin.
